UvA-Erepenningen : Calluna Euving over laureaat Arne Brentjes
Calluna Euving, secretaris UvA, vertelt over Arne Brentjes. Brentjes (oud-hoofd van de afdeling Bestuurlijke Informatie en tot voor kort secretaris van de Raad van Toezicht van de UvA) is onmisbaar geweest voor de strategische koers van de UvA. Met zijn enorme kennis van het hoger onderwijs en onderzoek, en de UvA in het bijzonder, en zijn zorgvuldige analyses en duidingen stond Brentjes het bestuur bij in tal van dossiers – van het huisvestingsplan en het transparanter maken van de organisatie tot aan de alliantie tussen AMC en VUmc. Als geen ander wist hij de strategie van de UvA te verbinden met de wereld buiten en daarbij altijd de inhoud voorop te stellen. Een mooi resultaat hiervan was ook het Instellingsplan van de UvA. Zonder Brentjes was dot ambitieuze plan er niet geweest. Ook toezichthouders konden stevig bouwen op Brentjes, die ook de rollen vervulde van secretaris van de Raad van Toezicht van de UvA en lid van de Raad van Toezicht van het aan de UvA gelieerde Duitsland Instituut.
